Etan posterizes Andrew Bogut

As you probably already know, Gilbert Arenas isn't the only Washington Wizard that dictates writes from time to time.  Etan Thomas also gets in on the penmanship from time to time.  He has a book of poems that was published a couple of years back and also does a column for SLAM Online.  In his latest column, he tackles some controversial comments from the Andrew Bogut, including this:

"The public's image of NBA players is true," he says. "A lot of them get caught up in the hype and do video clips with rappers and all that crap. They want bling bling all over themselves and drive fast cars. But that's just the way the culture is in America - if you've got it flaunt it and if you don't, you can't."

"I'm not into jewellery (Australian spelling). I've got some earrings but they're not too expensive. There are guys who drop a hundred grand for a chain. The public's got it right - a lot of NBA stars are arrogant and like to spend lots of money and have lots of girlfriends and all that.

"The smarter guys don't do that. They like to live a regular life and want to retire and be set up. About 80 per cent of them go broke by the time they retire or come close to it.

In his column, Etan takes Bogut to task over his broad, sweeping generalizations of basketball players and America in general and he does it in a classy way.  Now, I'd rather not have this turn into a discussion about the issue because there's enough places to do that as it is but I highly recommend taking a look at it, it's a great read so please check it out.

Just think if he had taken that with Brendan Haywood...

Uhh, I don't know if Jake's still on the lookout, but Brett Edwards appears to have found your Stevenson pic.

When I find a picture of Renaldo lifting
You will be the first person I contact.
If Abe Pollin had wanted the Washington Bullets to sound less dangerous, he should've just called them "The Bullets".
