Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

It's official

I'm changing the name of this blog to Fourth Quarter Collapse, as some sort of homage to Ben.

I like the whole "air out your sky is falling comments" thing that we did yesterday.  Here's the place to do it again.

Do keep it civil, though, please.  No cursing at anyone, player or fellow BF FQC member.

Oh man
That chuck into the air against Toronto (?) was painful to watch.

First game I saw the whole thing
I'd only been able to catch bits and pieces of the first two games. We looked every bit as awful tonight in 48 minutes as we did in the brief periods before. When BTH is your best player ...

This is What Happens When You Piss Away Your...
...Off-Season.  It's real simple, folks.  Every team the Wizards have played this season has improved from last season.  The Wizards haven't.  Everybody and their moms have figured out how to beat the Wizards.  At this point, the Wizards are heading for a 50 loss season and no playoffs (even in the Eastern Conference).

Since this is the "sky is falling" thread, let me start asking the questions.  When is it not too early to start thinking about playing for a good draft pick?  I don't follow college basketball too closely, so someone tell me - is there another Greg Oden type player awaiting that the Wizards could draft next year to address their problems in the paint?  Who would be a good coach to replace Eddie with?  Which team do you think Gilbert will sign with next year?  Which team do you think Jamison will sign with next year?  Which free agents will be available that would best complement Caron's game?

FYI, I was actually alive when Washington last won an NBA title.  I was 9 months old.  If I'm lucky, I might still be alive when Washington wins another title.  It doesn't look like this is the year though.

Sort Of
I have to get things out of my system from time to time.  Those things I said did reflect how I felt after I saw the game, but I feel better now.  One reason I feel better - Chicago is also 0-3.  Let's hope the comeback starts soon.

True, but...
...the Wizards won their first 3 home games.  0 and 3 just feels horrible right now.  But again, let's hope for that comeback.

Good Point
So does that mean we can expect the Wizards to win 67 of their next 78 games?  I guess we'll see.

Don't worry about the three posts.  It makes it easier for me to respond to each of your points.
