The Nets, Timberwolves and Warriors have pretty much locked up the 1-2-3 spots in the lottery. What we need to focus on is to stay behind (ahead) of Indiana, Sactown, Philly, Detroit and New York.

I don't really follow college basketball until March. From what little I've seen and from what I've read, Evan Turner is the safest pick, John Wall is the best pick, while DeMarcus Cousins is the wild card.

My point is, we need to position ourselves for the best spot at getting a top-3 pick. That should be the focus of the rest of the season.

I did not take this photograph, nor does this particular picture have anything to do with the Washington Wizards as far as I know. This is just a picture of Wet Willies, a bar/nightlife on Ocean Drive in South Beach, Miami.

I was in Miami for a week. I only saw one (1) celebrity the whole time I was there. Who was it? Why, none other than Mr. Gilbert Arenas. He had a table on the front porch, so anyone walking by could see him. The only camera I had was on my cellphone, so none of the pictures came out well. However, once I upload them, I will post what I got.

He was wearing basketball shorts, high socks, sandals, and a white t-shirt. Very friendly to me, and anyone else who was staring.

I just wanted to let people on the whereabouts of our franchise player. I saw him on Thursday night, a few hours after the Wizards lost to the Hawks, and the same night that rumors surfaced that Agent Zero would become Agent Six.

Andray Blatche needs to chill out, though I can't blame him for having absolutely no idea what to do at this point in his career.

The guy's been fantastic since the Wizards sent Antawn Jamison to Cleveland, but he also forces shots and really has no idea how to react when a wrench is thrown into the proceedings. It's not that he's being selfish when he makes up his mind before going into a move that he's going to shoot the ball no matter what, it's that he has no idea how to execute anything other than putting up a shot. He's never had to deal with being the focus before.

And with the way that he took it to defensive mastermind Chuck Hayes early on; you couldn't blame the guy for thinking that everything was going to fall. But from what I saw, as the game went on, Blatche kept forcing things, and it turns out that Flip Saunders kept him on the bench for the final four and a half minutes of the Wizards loss.

Not sure I agree with that (you can't find some way to squeeze him in for a play or three, mindful of the fact that he needs to settle down?), but I can understand why.

"I watched the Wizards game last night," he noted. "I was very pleased. It didn't go the team's way at the end, but boy, young kids, lots of energy, playing with heart and passion. We're in very productive conversations with the Pollin family and estate and I won't change my messaging: we already own 44 percent, we have lots of rights, the conversations are positive. And I'm expecting that sometime, hopefully soon, we'll be announced as the majority owners of the team, and we'll do our best to continue to build a team that everyone's proud of."

For Austin, Alonzo Gee led the way. I'm going to be honest with you, I have been severely underrating his offense this season. For instance, did you know he's the fourth leading scorer (active) in the D-League with 21.0 points per game? Neither did I. I guess with all of the Dwayne Jones hype down in Austin, I forget about him. He goes hard to the rack, can finish with contact and, perhaps my favorite part of his game, is that sometimes when it looks like he's just going to lay something up he instead finds an extra gear and just soars for a dunk. Out of nowhere. Anyway, last night he scored 22 points on 14 shots, but turned the ball over five times and didn't really contribute elsewhere (either in the box score or on defense). Regardless, Gee has upside and it is ridiculous - as an energy guy that can score off the bench with the tools to improve on defense, I like him. I like him a lot.

UPDATE: More good stuff from Matt Moore of Fanhouse.
