A recent Bleacher Report article has predicted that our very own Ernie Grunfeld would win Executive of the Year award and the much loved Big Panda take the Most Improved Player award - joining the likes of Paul George, Kevin Love, Gilbert Arenas (hey Gil!), and two other Bullets.
Is it possible that our much debated EG win as the best executive after one of the best Wizards summers in recent history? Just months ago, even mentioning Ernie with an executive of the year award would have produced very colorful responses on BF, but now, given his summer performance and our position to make an honest effort at getting Durant in 2016 (had to put that in somewhere), while keeping the team in at least Conference contention has to count for something. Whether they have been better than the moves made by the other teams this season will remain to be seen.
Possibly more importantly, can Beal continue his upward trajectory and get tapped as the leagues most improved talent? He'll have competition from the likes of Stephenson (although his year for it might have been last year), Bennett (set the initial bar low for himself), Parsons (larger role on a team with deep playoff aspirations), and his stablemate, Otto Porter (a man can dream right?).
What do you guys think?
p.s. if someone has written on this already (it was posted Tuesday) then sorry.
