Chicago amnestied him tonight. Not sure if they're looking to resign him, but if not, we should make a run at him. I know he's a pretty miserable defender, but he could be a great boost to our big depth and bench scoring. I'm certainly biased to a degree, but I would think that we are more relevant than not, especially in the east.
We can sell him on having a real role with the club that beat the Bulls (albeit w/out Rose and Deng, of course) and will bring back the same primary pieces from a successful season. I've certainly wondered about Rose's ability to ever recover and you have to think that's in the back of Boozer's mind. Wall can get Boozer similar looks and--knock on wood--his health seems to be far less questionable than Rose's going into this season. (Wall's also younger and views himself as a distributor rather than a primary scoring option.) Plus, with Nene's well-known health issues, Boozer knows he's going to start at least 25 games.
What do you guys think? Is he too old? Do you just want to stay away from Blue Devils? Are there other veteran bigs that you'd rather have (and at what price points)? And--with all due respect and love to Ariza--can we please get another big instead of another wing?
