For people like me who care about this sorta trivial stuff, some interesting Wizards uniform-related developments showed up on the Uni-Watch blog yesterday.
The biggest development is that the team HAS AN ALTERNATE JERSEY IN THE WORKS! No rendering of this was made available, but it's coming. And I cannot wait. My money says this is a dark blue Alt with the words THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, or a gray home alternate that's a slight nod to Georgetown. Those are just guesses.
The Wiz will have a Christmas day uni that features the players first names on the back, and the "DC Hands" logo on the front. You'll only see this uniform on court if we actually get a Christmas Day game, which seems very possible with Paul Pierce on board and our success last season. Every NBA team is getting one of these, so we're not really special. Nor are the unis, but whatever. If you ever wanted to see the words "OTTO" on the back of a uniform, here's your chance.
The team will wear LOS WIZARDS jerseys for Hispanic Heritage Month!!! And they look sweet!!!!
Teams that have won a championship will have a gold mark on their back collars. This is a LONG overdue concept. I've always thought the defending champions should wear a badge of some sort, but this is the closest thing. But the Wizards won't have one, because the NBA considers that title as having been won by the Bullets. The Thunder don't get one for the title the Sonics won, although that makes sense for entirely different reasons. Anyways...
So yeah, lots of new looks (finally) on the way! Which one are you most excited about?
