Jordan Clarkson (I know It is only Summer league.......but still..)

Clarkson, selected with the 46th overall pick in the Draft by the Wizards but OF COURSE sold to the Lakers for cash , hit 7 of 15 field goals (46.7 percent), 2 of 4 triples and all five of his free throw attempts towards 21 points. He added four boards, three assists and two steals in nearly 36 minutes of playing time. Yes, I know it is only summer league, but he showed an ability to break down his defender and get into the rim to create opportunities, and used his length to some effect on defense. Being a second rounder he would have been cheap, and I know it was discussed plenty on draft night here, but I just think he could be a young upside cheap player for the Wizards to mold into a backup guard and contributing role player. Were not having Andre miller as our backup forever............

Majority of mock drafts had him going in the late first round which shows that the upside is definitely there. Even some had him in the middle of the first round. Yes, regardless of the mock drafts, he was passed up till the 46th pick, but he's still worth keeping on your team to work him out and see what he can prove, purely just from his upside and athleticism he provides to the backup guard position. Why couldn't we at least kept him for now, see how he competed for us in summer league, and if it didn't workout....cut him. Just frustrating, but not a big deal. I understand Ted is cheap (Though randomly hands out deals like Gortat's) and will gladly take the cash, but if Clarkson keeps this up and lives up to his original hype, it will be very disappointing to us Wizard fans. I'm definitely rooting for him, regardless of the pain I will feel if he becomes a very quality player in this league.
