Let's be honest. We have owners in the NBA that have proven that they are willing to spend money to try to produce a winner: New Jersey, Dallas and New York come to the top of the list.
We have owners that let their General Managers just go for it: Houston and Philadelphia, come to mind. Whether they are successful or not they have alot of fun trading and moving up and down a draft board.
Most #nba owners are in the middle.
I have never in my time of following the bullets/wizards have seen an owner go so low as to sell his teams only draft pick for cash. After the #Wizards sold the #46 pick in the draft there were 6 straight trades at the end of the draft where teams moved in to get specific guys. (San Antonio swooped into the #54 spot to get a Serbian guard).
Ernie Grunfield looked very uncomfortable in his press conference last night. He looked like that was the last place he wanted to be. He was lucky that actual Wizards fans were not there to ask him a question or two about what it is like to work for such a penny pinching owner. He kept saying they traded the pick. Wrong. He sold the pick. I wasted 4 hours of my life last night. As a fan I was furious.
I have come to the conclussion that I have almost Zero confidence in our Owner. My wish is that the Los Angeles Clippers team sale falls through and that #SteveBallmer offers Monumental Sports to buy the Wizards.
It's tough to be a cheap owner in the NBA.
