So here is the official TavyCat NBA mock draft for 2014. This is based on team needs, research, and personal preference. 100% of this is original, and as you'll notice if you somehow make it through the whole thing it gets considerably briefer towards the end. I appreciate any and all feedback as I tried to 'shake things up a bit' throughout.
a. With the first overall selection Cleveland takes their small-headed superstar. Wiggins is far from a polished NBA product (and he looks like he's 11) but he's got elite athleticism, a smooth looking jumper, and the ability to affect the game on offense, defense and the glass. The effortlessness with which Wiggins plays is a tribute to his natural ability that allows him to glide in the open floor and sneak by defenders with a potent first step. With Embiid's injury Cleveland takes Wiggins over Jabari Parker with a heavy influence from Dan Gilbert and the anti-Mormon's.
a. The Bucks are apparently enamored with Parker and deservedly so. The Stormin' Mormon is a scoring machine and rebounding force on the averaging 19 PPG and 9 RPG as a freshman, while also showing the ability to stretch the defense from 3 (36%). At 6'8" 250, his body is ready to take an NBA beating, and while his defense may need some fine-tuning at the next level his offensive ability should make an immediate impact. Parker will be a building block for the Bucks (and the Church of the Latter Day Saints—please donate) for years to come.
