Al-Farouq Aminu Anyone?

One of the most talked about issues her on BF is how to find the team's big man of the future that can be part of our core and develop with John and Brad. I think it is worth taking a chance on Aminu by signing him to a small one to two year deal. In that time the Wiz could see if he can play the PF position full time and how much he improves.

There are many reasons why I think Aminu could develop into an above average PF with the Wizards. Primarily, Aminu is an excellent rebounder. Last season he averaged 8.5 per 36 as a SF, and 10.5 per 36 the season before. I suppose Aminu could easily average over 10 rebounds a game if he played PF, especially with the fast paced Wiz.

Second, Aminu is very, very athletic. He would be great running the break with John because he is also very long and can finish. A team with John, Beal and Aminu would be near unstoppable in transition. Offensively, his athleticism could allow him to become a very good face up scorer. He has the quickness and length to get by pretty much any PF in the league, he just needs to improve his shooting ability.
