I love the way the Wiz are playing in general, but have noticed a trend lately that I find disturbing. Maybe other BFers feel differently, so I'd appreciate some perspective from y'all.
It seems like Wall just hates going all the way to the hoop anymore on drives. I've seen too many times when he'll have a fairly easy path to the rim, but kicks it out to the side or behind, to the shooters, when he has a pretty clean look at the basket. This happens more when there's any kind of shot blocker at the hoop, but it happens often enough when there's *anyone* there that it bothers me.
I don't want him reverting back to his early years and those kamikaze drives where he'd always end up on his back wincing, but if I were the Pacers, I'd stick Hibbert under the basket and never help on Wall, staying on the shooters. Since Wall seems to be (at least to my eyes) afraid to go all the way in unless there's no one there, that would go a long way toward shutting down the Wiz' offense.
Anyone else feel this way?
