How do I get over the "they will do better/win if I don't watch" routine?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I couldn't watch the first two games against the Bulls due to conflicts at work. I made up for that by buying a ticket to Game 3, which, to this day is the only game they've lost in these playoffs.

Game 4 I watched until halftime. When the Bulls made it closer late, I had to turn it off, which seemed to "save" the Wizards, who had the game in hand by the time I turned it back on with a minute left.

I watched Monday's game until the Pacers took the lead, which prompted me to again turn it off (in each of these cases I feel I'm the reason for the Wizards not playing well). I check the score at halftime and see we've regained our edge. I decide I can only check the score for the remainder of the night -and turn it on with about a minute left when I feel we have it in hand. Of course, the Pacers can a flurry of threes the moment I put the game on and make things much more interesting than it should have been.

I don't know how I'm going to watch the game tonight. I don't know if I can even go to one of the next two home games. It's driving me nuts! I want to be watching this all in real time, but I hate feeling like me watching has a negative effect on the game (and, yes, I feel the same way about watching Redskins, Nationals and Caps games).

Please tell me I'm not alone!
