I'm not one to overreact over 1 series, but the last two games I feel have basically told me this team is maxed out on it's potential. We are who we are, a 45 win team, probable 2nd round exit. I don't see any reason why Ted feels like he should bring back the exact same players and have the same outcome next year. If there's anything that this league has taught us is that teams win with stars. Despite his struggles, Wall is a top 10-15 point guard, Beal is on his way to becoming a top shooting guard but we need that third piece, and Gortat/Nene aren't it.
This is one of the more interesting offseasons that the Wizards will ever have. Whatever they do will dictate what happens over the next 3-5 years. Bringing back Gortat, Ariza, and Booker will be a mistake. I would even buy Andre Miller out of his contract and let him walk. Do whatever needs to be done, clear as much space as you can, renounce everyone that you can and start afresh. Bring in Monroe, work a sign a trade for Bosh, something. It's been a frustrating series, because I feel like we're better than the Pacers, but the box score says otherwise. We need that other piece to put us over the hump. I would hope they consider moving Nene, that contract is an albatross and is the reason why it's prohibiting us from making any moves.
