Marcin Gortat tries to get intel in Celtics huddle

The Wizards' center tells us why he pulled this stunt.

By now, I'm sure you've seen the above photo of Marcin Gortat sneaking into the Boston Celtics' huddle during a third-quarter free throw. It's a nod to Rajon Rondo's attempt to do the same to the Miami Heat during the 2011 playoffs. If you look closely, you'll see Rondo's arm is around Gortat's waist, showing he was also in on the joke.

Our own Amin Vafa did some important journalism and asked Gortat what he was doing in there.

"For a second, I felt like a Celtic"-Marcin Gortat

"Rajon Rondo was kind enough to let me in. For a second, I felt like a Celtic," Gortat joked. "It made my dream come true. I could check that off my list."

"I was just trying to figure out what they were going to play. Obviously, I tried to get a call, but they didn’t say anything specific."

Not that he needed much information anyway, considering how the game was going, but a little bit doesn't hurt.
