Fourth quarter in game vs. Bobcats, Kemba Walker gets fouled on 3 point shot. He's sinks 2 in and you can tell he's in a good rhythm. This is when Wittman gets a technical that eventually turns the play into a 4 point play. A tie then becomes a 4 point lead, 84-80. After that the Wiz go ice cold and lose the game. While you can't definitively point to the technical as the cause for the Wiz going cold, it certainly did not help and occurred at the "tipping point" or should I say the "freezing point". Bobcats tenacious D also gets credit for shutting down Wall and company.
Wittman has done this before and I just don't know what to make of it. Yes he and other coaches should argue their point but if you berate an official to the point where you get a technical, aren't you just hurting your team? I haven't seen an official retract a call based on a coach argue to this extent. Wouldn't, causing this ruckus be a distraction?
Maybe its a way to energize the team by saying, hey I got your back, but I just can't see this as being a motivator for the Wizards.
