Wizards/Celtics Trade

Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Jordan Crawford

Ariza, Porter, Vesely, Maynor and 2nd round pick

We take 3 starters from the Celtics and give up 1. Bass helps if Nene gets injured and will be on the team next year. Crawford can backup pg/sg for our playoff run. Green gives us a sf today and would be on the team the next 2 years after this season as a good Ariza replacement. Green is going into his peak at 27 years old.

The Celtics do it to 1) TANK and 2) take 9 MILLION off their books. 3) They have time to develop Porter with winning being a goal in 2-3 years. Boston needs badly to get rid of crash's terrible contract. They need to hope some 1st round picks pan out. Also they need to figure out what they want to do with Rondo. It's better for them long term to let Green go now for the combination of money and assets than hold on to him for the next couple years.

2013-2014-----This roster could win it all. Green's number would be even better playing with wall because he's been playing without a true pg. His FG% has been 43 on 2's and 38 on 3's with no pg. It's very possible his 3 ball would be over 40% playing with Wall. I like the way he drives strong to the basket over our current small forwards too. Bass is an insurance policy for Nene. Also Bass would be good to take the place of Vesely, Booker and Seraphin if they all leave instead of scrambling for replacements in the summer. We all know Crawford. Give him minutes at both guard positions and he has the passing and scoring ability to help us.

Wall, Beal, Webster, Green, Nene and Bass are on the roster next year. We add 2 or 3 good free agents this summer and we have a strong team to compete for the championship AGAIN next year. Center and backup pg should do the trick.

I rather do this deal than Chandler, Faried and Miller but I guess that is another option. Naw I'll take Jeff Green a local Maryland kid who would fit GREAT with Wall, Beal and Nene
