How bad do you want Monroe? Would you trade Nene and Webster for Monroe and Smith?
Detroit gets a real PF and SF to pair with Drummond. Nene comes off the books when Drummond is due an extension. Detroit scratches the buyer's remorse itch with Smith. Detroit accepts that Monroe is a center and replaces him with a quality PF.
Washington gets a young C who has been playing out of position at PF. We also get a sort of stretch-4 type in Smith who might be able to cover up some of Monroe's defensive deficiencies. Both Monroe and Smith improve from playing in the right positions with a PG like Wall. Smith's contract, while not great, is only one more year than Nene's. Not sure if this is an issue with resigning Beal though.
We let Gortat walk (which hurts since he takes a pick with him) and resign Ariza.
Would be nice to also pinch Dumars to swap Bynum for Maynor while we are at it.
