Glen Rice Jr. and his first game with the Iowa Energy

Not a bad stat line. I didn't watch any of the game so I wanted to investigate the game because I think he could potentially be a 6th man type (in the sense that he can create his own shot and is not afraid to make something happen on offense) and he plays decent defense.

Then I looked at his shot chart... Yikes. Well, no one said he was afraid to shoot, but he definitely needs to get back into rhythm and hit some shots from outside. His +14 seems to indicate that he had a very positive impact on his team, which is good to see regardless of his shooting.

I am a big Otto optimist, but if Randy is sticking to this dumb 8-man roation at this point in the season, I think I can get behind sending him down to the Iowa Energy for a few games. Rice Jr. played 34 freakin minutes last night. That's a ton of game to work out some kinks and get confidence. I'd rather Otto play 10-15 minutes in NBA games than 35 in the D-League, but if he is getting absolutely no run in the NBA games, why not send him to D-League for some games? Maybe over a stretch where the Wizards have no practices, so Otto doesn't miss any Wiz development stuff in practice, but gets to actually get in games and work on stuff. Food for thought.

Anyone actually watch the game? Any thoughts?
