Im still not sure if Wall is capable of LEADing a team to a Championship.
I know he gets like 8 assists/gm but im not sure if that necessarily means that he makes his teammates better?
Do they All look to him to lead yet?
I know that he Loves bball (which is always the most important thing to have in ur star player imo), Cares about winning, And embraces the challenge of being the best he can be. All of that is essential in ur Teams best player.
We maxed him out already and that means he has to be our best or 2nd best player on the team if we're to win a ring... I dont see that happening, sorry to say.. Yea his shooting will improve, along with his bball IQ to a certain level, but hes not making a Paul George-esque leap, ever.
Its now year 4 and if he was ever gonna be a top-tier difference maker it would have happened already. I agree, he had a lot of crappy teammates his first 3yrs in the league, but doesnt a "Great" PG figure out how to make his teammates better. I still dont think his teammates look at him as "the Man". Hes just one of the boys, that not a leader or Star. Also Wittman is gonna be fired this yr or next, that means Wall will have had 3 different head coaches in 5 yrs. Thats not great for any young player but especially a PG who isnt quite sure of his abilities yet.
I guess i say all that to say this: Wall will be gone before signing another contract here in DC. Either traded (if our GM is smart) before this current contract expires or he will leave by himself. And what will we have to say about the John Wall era then?
I sincerely ask u all this question: What do you picture in ur head or think when i say:
Point is, u have a clear ideal/vision of who these stars are. You know what they are about.. U see them moving the ball smoothly and making winning plays and being their Patented selves.
When i say John Wall, im pretty sure ur vision is foggy. Theres no clear cut looping play in ur mind defining what he does best or what he is about.. Ur not sure HOW u view him.
John Wall will never be Our Star or Leader.
