Josh Smith signs a 4 year deal with Detroit. A lot of their fans are speculating that Monroe is now available, and regardless, Ernie needs to be on the phones with Dumars right now trying to pry away Monroe. Right now, I would offer anything except Otto, Beal and Wall and see if our expirings, plus our 2014 pick, plus Seraphin can get it done. If not, offer Otto. Detroit needs a real small forward and he can be their new version of Tayshaun.
Knight? Caldwell Pope. Otto. Smoove. Drummond.
Wall. Beal. Martell. Monroe. Nene/Okafor.
I feel like this trade would benefit both teams. Monroe would be an incredible fit for us with his passing ability and ability to facilitate out of the high post. He wouldn't be the greatest pick and roll partner with John but his passing ability and ability to score on the low block would do wonders for this team. We would have another legitimate option to run the offense through, and if they try to double, boom, Webster and Beal hanging out on the wings ready to splash 3's, and John hanging out somewhere ready to make a play. I think Otto would be great in Detroit and him, Drummond and Smoove would be a terror on defense. Do you guys think this is a trade that would benefit both teams? I feel like we have the package right now to get it done, with the most I would give up being Seraphin, Otto and our 2014 1st (but I'd likely want something else back plus Monroe if that was the case).
