Noel & Bynum. Both hurt, both franchise changing moves that would’ve put us in prime time IF they both would’ve worked out. Moving Ariza’s contract pre or post draft would’ve given the team room to sign Bynum & resign Martell (perhaps a smaller deal). That would’ve been a huge gamble for the Wizards but neither one of those two moves would’ve made the team any different than how it’s currently constructed had they not have worked out. IF they would’ve worked, we could’ve let Okafors contract expire & used that money to find another swingman next summer & been a certified contender within 2 years top.
You're talking about a different roster altogether.
Webster/Rice/2014 summer acquisition (draftee/free agent)
By 2015 when NeNe's contract is up nobody sweats it because Noel is ready to step in as a 21/22 year old with 3 years removed from an ACL injury and 3 years time of being in the weight room.
