The Greatest Franchise Altering NON-TRADE in the history of the Washington Wizards and Bullets

Just imagine Shaquille O'Neal being traded to the Washington Bullets back in 2004, or the Washington Wizards going into this season as the 2 Time NBA Champions. It very well could have happened. Back at the 2003 NBA draft I remember sitting on my couch and I was watching the news cast either from a local station or the national media. I was addicted to all things Bullets and everything that had to do with the NBA draft. I couldn't get enough. I remember it being known that Pat Riley was trying to get out of the 5th pick in the draft. He wanted a difference maker right now. Lebron was definitely not falling that far and my guess was that Riley wasn't able to get into the top 3 to get Carmelo Anthony (my guess). Then a little later it was announced on TV that the Miami Heat had offered the #5 pick to the Washington Bullets for Jerry Stackhouse. Stackhouse just had a monster year. 21 pts, 4 RBs and 4.5 Assists a game. What 5th pick was worth a player that good? The Bullets front office said "NO." Pat Riley went ahead and selected Dwyane Wade. Shaquille said that he wanted to play for the Heat so he could play with the young superstar, and they ended up claiming the Trophy. We all know that Lebron went to Miami to also play with Dwade. I can only imagine that "possibly" the Washington Wizards could be going for a 3 Peat this year. ("3 peat" is also a registered trademark owned by Pat Riley).
