The Wizards will also receive Jason Collins in the deal for Jordan Crawford, according to a report.

As it turns out, the Washington Wizards will receive a healthy player in return for Jordan Crawford. In addition to getting Leandro Barbosa's expiring contract, the Wizards will also get Jason Collins, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Assuming this is it for the deal, it makes things slightly more palatable if Collins stays. Collins' best days are well behind him, but he is a good veteran to keep around that can teach young players a lot of tricks. Kevin Seraphin and Jan Vesely could definitely learn something from him in practice. Assuming both players would have stayed, I think I prefer trading for Collins over Fab Melo, even if Melo has more upside.

Of course, it's also possible that Collins ends up being bought out and returned to a contender. Both Collins and Barbosa are on the books for the veteran's minimum of just over $850,000, so it would not be expensive to buy him out. If that's the case, the Wizards will have an open roster spot for D-League call-ups.
