Wizards Draft Targets- Round 2

This is a pick we are guaranteed, as opposed to the first rounder. I know it is not as exciting to talk about the second round, but it is still pretty exciting. Second round drafting success only comes when the player selected is very good at one thing. Whether that be exceptional defense or great 3-point shooting, every second round player needs to be great at something. Players highlighted here are here because they are very good at one thing, which will likely coincide with a Wizards need. This pick will likely be around 45.

Patric Young:

Power Forward, Florida

Why: He is an elite athlete with a ton of energy on the court. His dunks are insane and his passion is unrivaled. He could be a Brandon Bass or more extreme, Reggie Evans type of player. The Wizards would welcome an uber physical player to their rotation, and a backup forward who will give 110% every second would be a great second round addition.

Prognosis: Value

Here is another reason.

Olivier Hanlan:

Point Guard, Boston College

Why: He scores. He dropped 28.5 points per game on 68% shooting during the ACC tournament, as a freshman. His scoring ability would be great off the bench, and would make him a very intriguing second round option.

Prognosis: Steal

Isaiah Austin:

Center, Baylor

Why: His upside is almost unrivaled in the draft. He is 7'1", and he can shoot from long range. John Wall wants a stretch 4, I got him a stretch 5. He could be an elite second unit player and he could blossom into a perennial all-star.

Prognosis: Steal

Aaron Craft:

Point Guard, Ohio St.

Why: Defense, hustle, and heady guard play. He is an elite defender and ball handler, both of which can carry over to the next level. He is also a winner. This is something the Wizards need, players who expect to win. His play would solidify the backup point guard role and create an elite 1-2 point guard rotation.

Prognosis: Value
