Does anybody know when they announce the players that are eligible for the Rising Stars Game? I would really like Otto to participate in such event. Last year with Brad, he didn't score as much but many starting realizing his potential in that game. When you're playing a flashy exhibition game with all your peers instead of some groomed veterans & bonafide superstars it makes a huge difference with your confidence. I feel as if Otto can mold into his Tayshaun Prince ceiling (which is what we need him to be, not another superstar on the wing) with some confidence. Possibly he and Brad could play on the same team and build more chemistry. I also believe Brad can go off for at least 30 and take over with all the open looks he'll get that game.
Another All-Star weekend topic I'd like to discuss is John coming into the media spotlight. Get him on the floor with D-Wade & LeBron and you're going to have a show. He has all the tangibles to awe the crowd and put him on some more basketball fans' "must see list". Last year due to many first half season woes and difficulty catching Wizards games, it was a rare commodity for me to tune in and catch some emerging players that made the all star game. When I heard Paul George's name called I was confused to who he was exactly. I think he was averaging a shade under 20 ppg. After his all star exposure (with help from his playoffs performance) he is now along the game's elite. John's going to make that leap if he performs well in this game. Hopefully he can make DC an attractive market for some free agents as well.
