Wizards Draft Targets

For the sake of talking about the draft lets give the Wizards a pick somewhere around 10. I hope it gets traded this year but I really want to talk about the draft. I have primary needs for the team at PF and C, with the main secondary need being a backup PG/combo G. The players I put here are players we have a legitimate chance of getting with a late lottery pick. I will list them as steal, value, or reach selections.

Power Forward:

Aaron Gordon, PF, Arizona...Value

Has Blake Griffin like athleticism and playing style who can is comfortable on the wing.

NBA Comparison...Kenneth Faried/Blake Griffin

Noah Vonleh, PF, Indiana...Steal

7'3" wingspan and improving jumper make him a potential all-star.

NBA Comparison...Jared Jeffries

Adreian Payne, PF, Michigan St...Reach

Questionable motor is overshadowed by athleticism and post-moves.

Montrezl Harrell, PF, Louisville...Value

Huge wingspan and explosive athleticism complement his improving jumper and above the rim play.

Doug McDermott, PF, Creighton...Value

He is undersized but has nearly perfect fundamentals and just finds ways to score and win. Offensive versatility overshadows lack of athleticism.

NBA Comparison...Kyle Korver

Center:

Joel Embiid, C, Kansas...Steal

Advanced game for only playing organized basketball for a few years. body control and lateral movement pave the way for elite defense.

NBA Comparison...Andrew Bynum

Mitch McGary, C, Michigan...Value

High motor and athleticism who seeks contact around the rim. Rebounding prowess and finishing touch are a very intriguing combination.

Willie Cauley-Stein, C, Kentucky...Value

Good hands and great length are evident with many blocked shots. Limited offensively to anything above the rim or easy put backs.

Backup Point Guard/Combo Guard:

Andrew Harrison, PG, Kentucky...Value

Big physical point guard who uses size and strength to get in the lane and create opportunities for himself or others.

NBA Comparison...Dion Waiters

Semaj Christon, PG, Xavier...Reach

Slashing ability and length are his strengths while his decision making lags behind)

NBA Comparison...John Wall(not joking, http://www.nbadraft.net/players/semaj-christon )
