I was reading through Daniel O'Brian's bleacher report article which identified concerns from the upcoming season. Most notably the front court heavy Suns roster and Washington's reliance on Kevin Seraphin to hold down the 5. Phoenix aren't a playoff contender in any ones eyes, with their 2 best players being PGs and a bunch of unproven talent needing minutes to test rotations and ability.
Gortat is the teams best big man, who is not quite an all star but has the low post skills on both ends. On a expiring contract for very similiar money to our best perimeter defender Trevor Ariza. This would add serious depth to our rotation during Okafors injury as well as free up minutes at forward for Porter and Webster. We would perhaps have to sweeten the deal slightly with a 2015 pick or even a Singleton type player.
What do you think? Could this be the piece that pushes us up the Eastern Conference into possibly the 6th seed??
Would the Suns/Wizards go for it??
