Well, I guess I picked the right season to become a Washington Wizards fan, nowhere to go going forward but up! LOL. Hey everyone. This is sort of weird to admit, but it is what it is. I've been in DC area for 20 years. Never gave much thought to the Bullets/Wizards as I'm a huge seamhead (Orioles first, and last 8 seasons Nationals fan). But, just started going to Wizards games as I finally decided to give the NBA a shot....its season falling perfectly in between the World Series and Opening Day pretty much. Well...we've had a blast watching the games. I guess since I don't have the attachment or expectations perhaps that many longtime DC hoops fans do, I have had an absolute great time at Verizon Center watching the games. Sure, I went to basketball games in college and understand the game and appreciate it. But, it was never my sport or anything I paid much of any attention to. I know of Kobe and Shaq and LeBron, etc... but thats it. A true NBA newbie. And I may be setting myself up for heartache and misery, but right now the historically psychic energy has not been invested, so I just enjoy the games for what they are. Anyway -- despite the dreadful dreadful trajectory for this season, I've decided, since I'm a Washingtonian, I'm going to be a Wizards fan, although it would be easy to follow a powerhouse franchise because technology today allows that. Any tips on good blogs or sites (other than this one of course), or any other tips on newbie fandom appreciated. See you around. Beat the Heat! (good luck with that!)
