Andray Blatche Was 'Kind Of Upset' About 'NWT-Conditioning' Box Score

Jeff linked this long Syracuse.com piece on Andray Blatche earlier this morning, but there was one section of it that caught my eye. You may remember how one box score listed Blatche as "NWT-Conditioning" during the time period where Blatche was shut down to close the season. We all found it pretty amusing, because ... well, it was kind of amusing.

Blatche, though, didn't think it was that funny.

"The GMs came to me and said, ‘You know, you’ve been hurt, you’re out of shape, so let’s say that you’re working to get your body back right, to get over your wounds,’" Blatche said. "And then when I saw on the paper, not a DNP, but a conditioning, I was kind of upset because that’s not what we talked about."

Blatche went on to say that he felt injuries, and not conditioning, was his issue. Of course, Blatche also said that he "was under the impression that there wasn’t going to be a season," and that caused him to slack off a bit. Really, it was poor conditioning that caused nagging injuries that shouldn't have been there.

Nevertheless, it's probably poor form to embarrass someone with that kind of box score, even if he deserved it.
