Most of us will probably be focused on the Andray Blatche amnesty saga (see the decision and post here), but the Washington Wizards do have a game at 6 p.m. in the Las Vegas Summer League against the Memphis Grizzlies. When we last saw Washington play, they had tired legs in a loss to the NBA D-League Select squad. It'll be interesting to see if a day off does enough to recharge the batteries.
The Wizards will be facing an intriguing, guard-oriented Grizzlies squad that has played just once -- a relatively easy win over a woeful Knicks team -- in Vegas thus far. First-round draft pick Tony Wroten is the biggest name, and he'll be a tough cover for Bradley Beal. Playing mostly off the ball, Wroten was excellent in the opener, scoring 19 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out six assists. The Grizzlies also have Josh Selby, last year's second-round pick, and Jeremy Pargo, a young point guard with NBA experience that is reportedly on the trading block. Hmm...
The game will be broadcasted on Comcast SportsNet, as well as the $5 Summer League Broadband stream.
