Overall in the interview, Beal seems like a humble, stand-up guy who gives a thoughtful interview. There were a few tidbits that felt particularly relevant to us Wiz fans.
Beal as a combo-guard?
I'm trying to develop into a combo-guard so I can play the 1 and the 2. Coming out of college I was probably strictly a 2 and I played probably more 3 in college as well, so I'm really just trying to become more of a combo guard, a guard that can handle the ball, play the point guard, and 2-guard as well.

Later on in the interview he says that he honestly does not care where he goes, as long as it's the right fit. He's not overselling himself either, as the only position he mentioned specifically was the 8th pick:
It doesn't matter if I'm number eight in the draft or lower than that.
I realize he's just throwing out a number and I actually love the humility here, but these two things coupled together, it makes me wonder if we should brace ourselves for Beal to measure out pretty short at the combine.
I know, I know, file this under idle speculation, and I understand people's argument about height not being the most important thing (you don't shoot with the top of your head, etc.), but this was the first I heard of Beal as a combo guard and it made me worry a little bit.
Whenever I read the differing takes on BF about Beal, it scares me how torn I am. A while ago now, someone posted about watching the SEC all season and being completely underwhelmed by him. Then I get excited when I see the clips of his shooting stroke, or his rebounding numbers for a guard, only for Rook to point out that this might be one instance where rebound averages do not translate, since he often played the 3 in college. He compares himself shooting-wise to Ray Allen, and to D Wade in terms of how he attacks the rim, but the questions of size and athleticism will be key to whether he'll ever have that sort of impact in the NBA.
So it's still wait and see until the combine, but I find myself incredibly anxious...
