The Wizards Need to Use Math

The guys over at the Wages of Wins blog have been very accurate at two things in their evaluation of talent

1) Predicting future NBA success

2) Predicting overrated college prospects who will be drafted way too high

In the 2011 draft, their top 5 prospects were

1) Kenneth Faried 2) Kyrie Irving 3) Kawai Leonard 4) Alec Burks 5) Derrick Favors

others of note who were drafted high but overrated:

Brandon Knight, Jimmer Fridette, Kemba Walker, Klay Thompson

In this year's draft the top players that the Wizards should look at for the #3 Pick are

Brad Beal (3rd best rated), MKG (#12) and TRob (#14)

More importantly the Wiz should NOT draft

Drummond, Rivers or Barnes (all who are below #60).

I know this isn't that helpful in terms of elimination, but I think Bradley Beal is the way to go and that Barnes and Drummond should not even be considered.

Also, did you see Mark Cuban destroy on First Take talking about USING STATISTICS in basketball? Cause that was awesome.
