I find these articles about the various team's medical staff and their insights quite interesting. Some of the comments from Vitti mirror those of the Suns, where they talk about alignment issues and proactively managing that side of the players, rather than simply being a reactionary/triage unit. Still, a lot of how a medical team is judged/perceived can be down to luck - get unlucky with a few (unavoidable) injuries, and you risk getting cast as having poor medical staff. I seem to recall on some of the Lakers' forums a few years back that Vitti was often maligned due to the team's lingering injury issues, particularly with Kobe, Bynum.
