I am a long time lurker on the site. Focus more of my attention these days on college ball due to the Wizards struggles.
I just come over to ask: do you folks really think that Brad Beal is that much better than Dion Waiters and/or Austin Rivers? Worthy of a #2 or #3 pick?
I watched many, many Florida and Syracuse games this year and I just fail to see where Beal is soo much better than Waiters. Waiters handles better, is more physical, and is more explosive. I am convinced he will be a killer in the NBA and I hate Syracuse. I'd say he is far more similar to Eric Gordon than Brad Beal is. The Beal comparisons to a young Ray Allen, in my opinion, are laughable. Maybe Ben Gordon.
I don't have the same lofty praise for Rivers, but I have seen Beal and Rivers match-up before (happened many a time in AAU) and have never felt Beal was that much better. Rivers is by far the craftier offensive player.
I guess my point is this: why not draft Robinson and then try to package our second round picks and Booker for a mid-first rounder and snag Waiters or Rivers?
I continue to hear that the Wizards (word in the gyms) are the likely landing spot for Jeff Green. The following strikes me as a pretty intimidating lineup.
2: Dion Waiters, Jordan Crawford
3: Jeff Green, Chris Singleton
4: Thomas Robinson, Jan Vesely, James Singleton
5: Nene, Kevin Seraphin
Curious to hear your thoughts.
