Too lazy . . . here's the salient part (after an optimistic discussion of how the Nuggets can take advantage of the Lakers in a trade, whatever)
Grr. I want to feel that way about the Wiz front office. Hey Teddie the Tool, how about actually running the Wizards like WINNING is their business? Instead of going into yet another off-season with a lame duck coach, lame duck GM, and lame roster.Rest assured Nuggets fans, our front office is very sharp. We're building our team perfectly. Most teams are trying to tank, get a star, and then build around the star - this is an unknown quantity because you have the star when he hasn't peaked and it's no guarantee he'll resign after you've built your team around him. We're doing it the opposite way - we're assembling a quality supporting cast and then trying to acquire the star at the right time to open up a 5-6 year contending window. Not only that, but we're faced with a unique situation with the new CBA where the team is perfectly positioned to execute this plan.
Oh yeah, and releasing a real pro when you could've showed a little loyalty as the team was playing out the string? Holding out hope? Well, the Wizzies drew 17k the game after they mailed in a comprehensive humiliation against the Knicks (not exactly a top team), so if Ted's a business guy first he's going to have the bargain basement roster of all time and count his money regardless of how unwatchable it is because DC fans are willing to pay to see the other teams. Hmm. And of course you can save a bunch of dough by not having a real coach or GM since you don't care about winning . . .
