The Calming Influence of Nene

Last night, for the first time this season, the Wiz did not seem to be playing too fast for themselves. There was a patience and methodical approach to certain possessions that simply has not existed with any group the team had put on the floor in 3 years.

It felt good to watch, like Nene had reminded them that they did, in fact, know how to play basketball. It was OK to hold the ball for a second to let a play develop. It was not necessary to either pass immediately or immediately make a move to score. Aside from Crawford, who I wish the team could package with Blatche and send away this summer, I can hardly remember a forced shot.

Not to mention Nene put up strong numbers to help us get ahead and hold onto the lead. He set the tone early last night and I woke up this morning absolutely thrilled with the trade. Looking forward to the game tonight!
