I know this site has an emphasis on non-hating but I have to get this off my chest. It's hard enough watching the Wizards sometimes. Having to listen to Buckhantz' obsessive recounting of the score and barrage of statistics, delivered in the exasperated tone of an abused substitute teacher, makes it that much more unpleasant of a viewing experience.
Here is an exact transcription from tonight's loss to San Antonio:
Buck: Three separate times, Phil, the Wizards got it to nine. They had possession with a chance to cut it to as few as six and couldn't cash-in.
Phil: Yeah they've been hovering right around nine, ten, eleven points and they haven't been able to go on one of those spurts necessary to get themselves, really, within striking range.
Buck: At halftime the Wizards were down by fourteen, 63 to 49.
<<followed by a barrage of Spurs players' stats and a bit of play-by-play>> then,
Buck: So Washington was in this game, if you're just joining us, they took an early seven to two lead as Jordan Crawford knocked down three 3-pointers in the first quarter alone. But San Antonio doing what they do so well. They are methodical at their game. They run their offense. Everybody on the court moves. And their not just running around. It's all choreographed.
How does this pass for intelligent analysis? Doesn't he know we can see the freaking score on the screen and don't need it read to us constantly? Doesn't he know that six to nothing runs happen twenty times per game and are not worth even mentioning or that I don't want to be reminded seventeen times that the 'zards have not won in San Antonio since 1999??
So is it me? Do I have anger issues that I need to focus on or are there others out there in Bullets-land who are tired of this inanity?
