Kaman worth going after?
Hornets already said he was off the trading block as of now. They've said they want to develop some younger players. Why not trade McGee and for Kaman straight up. Kaman said he didn't want to go anywhere as a back up. I have a feeling someone may offer McGee an offer not worth matching this off season. So why not just trade him for a veteran who maybe not have the athletic gifts as McGee but could still be more productive? I've tried defending McGee but everytime i do, he ends up doing something idiotic and makes me look like a fool.

Do it now!!
Tired of McGee and his crying everytime he gets called for OBVIOUS goaltending and his Low Basketball IQ.
Kaman's on an expiring deal
and, to be honest, winning this year would be counter-productive. We’re best off getting a high pick this year and trying to acquire pieces in the off-season.

Well, I guess the question is less ping pong balls versus
the guards getting experience playing pro ball with a real big sooner rather than later

LOL
This poll needs a “it doesnt matter because neither will be on the team next year” option :).
Id say more like “No…his sign and trade value might even be better than Kaman” unless we also had a bad contract to dump in the deal (cough cough blatche).

Sign and Trade is not going to get us anything
The player is in the driver’s seat and the team he leaves should be happy with whatever crumbles they can get.
What did Toronto get for the sign and trade of Bosh? What did Cleveland get for Lebron?

Maybe Hibbert is a more likely target
I think the Wiz may have liked him more than McGee. I don’t know if Hibbert can be seen as a solution to the Wiz problems, but he is an upgrade over Ja-lhama.
he made the all star team so apparently coaches think high of him

There is so many teams with capspace this summer
the top tier restricted FA’s like Gorden, DHoward (if not traded) and Hibbert are not going to choose the Wizards.

Hibbert went to high school in DC area and played for Georgetown at the VC
so if anybody would come maybe it would be him….but I doubt it
No shot Hibbert would want to come back here to play
He got dogged everywhere he went in high school. The Hibbert Haters were at every gym he went to and it was ruthless at times. It continued even in college as he excelled, he couldn’t wait to get the hell out of here.
He got dogged
b/c he was considered a ‘project type of player’ (who took a while to develop), however in the right system (ie, where passing is key and to find the open man, with above average IQ) he could flourish.
It solely depends upon who will the organization bring in as a coach and what kind of philosophy he’ll implement.
Philosophy A – Running team or rather prefer to run the floor: Advantage JWall
Philosophy B – Structured Half-Court set: Advantage Hibbert
We might offer them the max but so might other teams and if they get multiple max offers, the're not going choose the Wizards
Plus I don’t think any of those are worthy of a max deal.

i think Ernie would have taken Hibbert for sure
so close yet so far
I want to get rid of McGee so don’t get me wrong but I think kaman wouldn’t be a good fit with Wall and he’d leave after this year

I have no problem with trading McGee
But I dont think Kaman has much to offer at this point, maybe 5 years ago, but not now…

Hmmm...how sanguine would we be
about Kaman and Xavier Henry for Javale?
by Bullet Nation in Exile on Feb 10, 2012 11:10 AM EST up reply actions
But then again Henry really hasn't done anything yet
We all loved him in the draft though
I wouldn't
Henry can be a nice shooter, or at least he should be, but he isn’t the awnser at the 2. Kaman isn’t either at C because he is an expiring contract.
So, without a lottery pick we get no longterm value. There has to be a better deal out There.
If not, then I’d still rather let McGee walk because Kaman is only going to hurt our draftlottery changes.

Comon BNIE, you didn't really mean that trade
Jeez, McGee is turning into a bag of chips like Dray. He’s not that bad. He needs better players around him, just like John Wall does.
Just tossing the thought out there
Javale has to be retained, and if we’re planning to let Nick walk, Henry gives some depth to SG. Not thrilled with Kaman, but I am so desperate for a decent legit big man for our guys to work with…figured it was worth tossing out to be ripped apart :)

Would the Hornet give up their first
and Kaman for McGee? I haven’t checked numbers but if we’re gonna give up McGee for a fill in (Kaman) we might as well shoot for a first with it.
No. They are rebuilding like we are.
If anything Stern will force us to give up McGee ánd our #1 for Kaman

You guys are acting like Kaman is an upgrade
He’s not. No way I trade McGee for him. Kaman is one of the most inefficient bigs in the league. He’s in the Andray Blatche-territory. He’s a turnover machine and shoots a poor FG%.
If you want to give a little value i.e. 2nd round pick or sign him as a FA for cheap, fine, but LOL @ anyone wanting to trade McGee for him.
