Links: JaVale McGee In Sports Science, More Wizards-Suns Sadness
Today's late links:
- JaVale McGee was featured in a Sports Science video where he dunked a cookie in a bowl of milk lofted 11 feet above the ground. This was presumably released in time for him to defend his Slam Dunk Contest title*. Oops! [SB Nation D.C. | DC Sports Bog]

I still say (regarding Chuck and etc)
When they dont have us to pick on anymore, they’re heads are really gonna explode and a lil piece of them is gonna die inside.
Barkley has hated us
Since we showed MJ the door.
Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.
lol worthy
Wizards Coach Randy Wittman was shouting to the referees, hoping to get a response, but he kept being ignored. Suddenly, a fan seated nearby shouted, "Randy, nobody listens to you!"
Wittman looked over his shoulder and shouted back, "You got that right!"

I agree with the premise of the article – that Nick Young will be gone this Summer, and the most likely landing spots for him are the two LA teams… but
Nick Young almost single-handedly beat the Portland Trail Blazers last week
Completely ignoring the fact that John Wall (29 points, 9 assists) and Jordan Crawford (21 points, 4 assists, 3 steals) had a little bit to do with the Wizards winning that game.
He’s also a 6-foot-7, 26-year-old guard/forward enjoying a solid year in averaging 17 points a game while showing considerable improvement as a defender, creator and leader.
Well, I’d dispute that Young is enjoying a “solid year” – since his shooting percentages are down considerably from last year… if you think a True Shooting Percentage of 51.8% is solid….then I disagree….
But then the writer goes on to say that Nick Young is a “creator and leader” ??!!! …. PLEASE (And I thought I was the biggest Nick Young fan ever)…
I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

My immediate reaction was.........TRADE?!?!?!?!?
We could definitely trade Young, who will be gone anyway next year, to either LA team for their first round pick, and it would not be that much of a unfair bargain. Young loves LA, he’d definitely agree to the trade. but which one is going to exit the playoffs soonest? I’m reckoning on the Lakers personally.
Nick for LAL or LAC first? Yes please! He's gone in 2 months anyway
It will be painful to watch the Wiz offense without Nick as nobody would be forcing the opponents D to guard the perimeter, making things that much harder for Wall to penetrate but man, we can use all the help we can get from this deep draft coming up.

More than a first pick I would hope...
Although this is a deep draft, Nick was after all a 16 pick himself. I would sign and swap him to the Lakers for Goudeluck and a first or to the Clippers for Bledsoe and a first. It is too soon to hold a fire sale IMO.
the fact that he'll walk for nothing is pushing his price downwards though

Yeah, reading that
Made me wanna see us go out and sign this Nick Young guy. Definitely looks like an All Star caliber player.

I think one of the headlines should say "Lessons learned from a 2-3 road trip"
Not 2-5.
Don’t take a near .500 road trip away from us! haha…..
Anyone else contemplating giving up the Wiz for lent???

Can NY get an extension once hes traded?
Like how Melo got an extension when he went to the Knicks.
Just wondering, because if he can, wouldn’t he be a lot more appealing to teams who are in need of a SG?
Doesn’t seem like we’ve had a SF do that in forever.
Yes, we did. We waived Gee just last year.

did we waive him or did he choose to go to SA?
or was there some snafu where Ernie didnt extend him by Sunday midnight and the Spurs got him? I recall Flip saying Gee would be retained then he was gone 2 days later
We called him up from the Spurs D league team in 2009 when he was D League ROY
then we waived him and he went back to the spurs, they put him in the d league again, he was called up by us and waived again in 2010. Then the cavs picked him up and signed him for this year (and the next I believe but im not sure)

Alonzo Gee had 16 pts 10 reb in 24 minutes
k leonard 24 and 10 last night . Doesn’t seem like we’ve had a SF do that in forever.
I really liked Gee when he was playing for the wiz
Glad he is doing well with Cleveland but I wish we could have kept him. I don’t think his defense is too shabby either and has the athleticism Ernie loves.
I've been thinking all season
What does Chris Singleton do that Gee doesn’t?
I'm a Wizards fan. We've been trying to tell you about Lebron for years. Hated the man before it was cool.

Gee played behind Lewis, Howard, Thornton, Martin and even Mo Evans last year
He barely played last year and didn’t do much either. I think they let him go so he could have a better opportunity.
That airballed free thow thing... lol
Jan Vesely is actually on a list with Lebrick. And he’s higher on the list!
