Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

Simply... Thomas Robinson is a beast!!!

Is anyone seeing what Thomas Robinson is putting up this year? 17pts 12rebs 1.2stls 1.2blks He is literally carrying Kansas on his back. I'm having a tough time seeing the Wizards passing up on this guy if he is available when we pick in the draft. He is a solid in the post, can pick and pop, also he is a monster on the boards. He is exactly what we need at the 4 position, He is David West with explosiveness. I know we need shooting but I dont see anyone that will be in the top ten that could provide that for us. But we also need defense, toughness, rebounding and I see that in Robinson. Let me know what you guys think...

Robinson's Big Year

He’s truly been one of the best prospects this season and was a standout at the LeBron Skills Academy over the summer. I’ll be real curious to see his measureables, but his heart is tremendous and his desire seems great.

He won’t be a top 3 pick because other prospects have higher ceilings, but Robinson will make some team very happy in the 4-8 range….a likely neighborhood for the Wizards.

Excellent Post :)

He’s also got great character and is a hard worker, which certainly can’t hurt.

You’d probably also get more of me with the pick as well. (Is that good or bad?)

Robinson’s advantages:
Better rebounder, better athleticism, better defense, off ball cuts
Sullinger’s advantage:
Refined post moves

Honestly I don’t think it’s even close IMO

Sullinger needs to be above Robinson on every mock draft on the planet.

He’s a better passer, shooter. and equal rebounder. He’s a piece you can run your offense through. Robinson, ahhh, not so such.

Robinson isn’t worth a top 5 pick IMO.

I haven’t watched their passing much, but Robinson has better assist numbers, so theirs that
Also from swishscout:

Robinson doesn’t get a lot of credit for his passing ability, but sees the floor well and does a great job of playing unselfish when he sees an opportunity for a teammate.

and
[Sullinger] does a fair job of reposting and trusting his teammates to get the ball back to him, but isn’t much of passer for a big man in general.

For shooting, both can hit the midrange jumper and the occasional NCAA 3, Sullinger may have a slight advantage here, but it’s pretty close

Finally for rebounding, stats per 40 min pace adjusted:
Player .. ORB DRB TRB
Robinson 3.5 11.3 14.8
Sullinger 3.3 9.4 12.7

draft robinson, retain mcgee, offer gordon something real good?

we gain:
-reliable scoring from a budding star
-the perfectly defensive compliment to mcgee’s abilities
-interior defense & rebounding
-high character players
-a big that sets legit picks for our new backcourt of wall & gordon == deadly.

let young walk, buyout lewis, amnesty blatche

booker, seraphin, and turiaf become our front court backups.

singleton, vesely, and veteran signing become our sf rotation

wall, gordon, crawford, and mack backcourt rotation.

i love that team.

I wholeheartedly agree he is a heckuva ball player that can bring that toughness at the four spot

needed beside Mcgee. Hopefully Ernie G. is doing his due dilligence in making sure he can be producitive playing here in his home town. That being said IMO the best player in this draft.

Agreed but only McGee has trade value and that's severly downgraded by the fact that he is up for an expensive extension

Wall, Robbinson and GillChrist (or something similar) surrounded by a servicable veteran C, PF and 1 or 2 servicable veterans on the bench should be the plan.

You can keep 1 or 2 from Booker, Singleton, Crawford, Seraphin, Vesely, McGee and Mack but you also need them to trade up with along with the multiple second round picks we have.

Blatche needs to be amnestied and not traded. Trading him would only give us an equally useless player back on at least the same, if not more money.

Lewis needs to be flipped for a late first or early second rounder since his team option should have some value at the trade deadline or on draft day. That pick can then be packaged to trade up.

In no way has Robinson carried Kansas this year.

He is a good player, but he is rarely the reason Kansas wins a game. He isn’t better than Sullinger and will not help this team anywhere close as much as Barnes, Davis, Sullinger and even Jones can.

Don’t for a second think that Kansas doesn’t have good players around him and that they wouldn’t be ranked if he wasn’t on the team.

T Robinson putting on a show tonight

I’d call it a toss up between him and Sullinger. They both clean up the boards and can potentially anchor an offense. Wiz really need a player that will be aggressive, meaning a player like Nick Young is a good scorer once in a while but we need an aggressive, consistent scorer.

I'm not going to think of something extra witty or clever to say, I don't want to convince you to see things my way, I just have 2 words for you: JEREMY LAMB

Love his game

He does look like a beast, and I like him more than Sullinger at this point. He’s definitely in my top 5 (Barnes, MKG, Robinson, Davis) My only concern is he may end up being another Trevor Booker type player, and while I’m a pretty big Cook Book fan, we need guys who can play and who can score and develop with Wall into an all-star like 1-2 punch.

Tyrus Thomas.

That’s who I think of when I see him.
