I was not a fan of the trade when it was made. I am now even more of not a fan of the trade. I agreed that McGee needed to be traded, He as averaging under 20 minutes a night with the Nuggets. He likely will never put together the basketball IQ with his freakish talent.
I was not of a fan of the trade for what the WIzards got in return. I like Nene's skill set, but he has been injury prone over his career and is continuing to be that way with the Wiz. He is 30 and personally never thought of him as a cornerstone to build around with Wall. The Wiz stupidly took on his terrible overpaid contract. Also he adds the problem that Wiz have with having too many of the same type of players. Seraphin probably at his best will become a similar player as far as production with Nene. Trevor Booker another player with the plantar issues is a smaller version of Nene.
I think it is silly when people on this site say Nene is untouchable. This Wizards team is harder to watch than the teams with Ike Austin, Popeye Jones, and Arron Williams.
Personally I would have rather let Mcgee walk before taking on Nene. They would have more caproom. The Wiz should consider unloading him for some picks or some shooters.
