I would love to hear predictions on this, especially from the editors.
It is amazing how far short of expectations this team has fallen, although as always there is an excuse because there is little doubt they would play better with Nene and Wall in the lineup. But even without them, it is an indictment of your roster assembly process if they guys you brought in do absolutely nothing.
Ariza and Okafor are as bad as advertised, and for that matter, so is Nene to be honest. He is an awesome player but can't stay on the court. I feel really stupid for giving the Wizards the benefit of the doubt on the Nene trade and the Okariza trade. Yes, I know, let's wait and see with the whole starting lineup intact. Wait, when will that be?
We have gone over the alternatives, and squeezed our sour grapes over the likes of Ryan Anderson, Kyle Korver, even Elton Brand and I would even venture Ben Gordon would be a player this team needs. But no, Ernie signs sucky ass AJ Price and Jannero Pargo. Cartier Martin is on the permanent DNP-CD list.
The proof is in the pudding. Ernie put together a team that can't win games, and did nothing to shore up our shooting deficiencies. He has to go, so the question is: When will Ted realize this?
A few facts to keep our timeline straight: Ernie signed a two-year extension last spring. A two-year deal for Wittman followed soon after. The prevailing opinion was that all of this would run parallel with the expirings of Oakariza and Wall getting his extension. Thousands cheered when Don Newman was brought in from the Spurs to lie and wait until Wittman gets fired.
But the wheels have fallen off the bus. Time to make your prediction. How long will it take for Ernie to get his walking papers?
