It's not officially official, but it looks like the Washington Wizards' two starters on the wing will be Bradley Beal and Trevor Ariza. While Randy Wittman has not come out and told anyone his starting lineup, multiple outlets have noted that it'll be Beal and Ariza rather than Jordan Crawford and Martell Webster. A list distributed to Cleveland media listed Beal and Ariza as the starters, and Mike Wise confirmed the lineup in his column in the Washington Post today.
I approve of the decision to start Beal, especially with John Wall sidelined. It'd be nice to bring Beal along slowly, but Crawford played much better off the bench in the preseason, so it's better to keep him in that role. As for Ariza ... I'll just refer everyone to this piece that made the case for Webster to be the starter. I wish that Webster could be rewarded more for his strong preseason.
More to come all day.
