In what seems to be becoming an alarming trend, there are several games that seem to be missing from the tube this upcoming season for Bullets fans. Never before can I recall more than 2-3 games per season being missing from clickable TV range. In this season, we will see that number exceeded in the first month alone.
THE BREAKDOWN:
Preseason
4 of 9 contests will be aired.
*You can write this off as the preseason, sure. Perhaps more alarming here is that 8 of 9 contests were on the road. Sure, we're young - but that's a tough way for your team to begin the season before, well, it even begins. Diets are off, routines are off, and I have to think it wears on your psychologically a bit. Okafor has already been reported sick with "food poisoning" and lost over 10 pounds. What are the chances that would have happened if he is eating from his own place 1/2 the time? I digress...
Regular Season
November:
10 of 13 contests currently set to be aired. Games Missing: MIL, UT, PORT
December:
9 of 14 contests currently set to be aired. Games Missing: ATL, NO, *LAL, ORL, ORL
January:
9 of 16 contests currently set to be aired. Games Missing: OKC, ORL, SAC, PORT, SAC, PHILA
February:
12 of 12 contests currently set to be aired.
March:
10 of 17 contests set to be aired. Games Missing: PHILA, NO, PHX, PHX, *LAL, OKC, ORL
April:
8 of 9 contests set to be aired. Game Missing: PHILA
Total: 23 of 81 Contests Unavailable
*These numbers could always change, obviously, but I found this alarming as I reviewed the schedule. Perhaps this is normal and the games naturally get picked up along the way.
If that isn't the case and we are out over 1/4 of the season, it's more than a bit disheartening.
