We're still not sure just how severe Kevin Seraphin's right calf injury will ended up being, but Michael Lee of the Washington Post reports that he has been ruled out of the team's preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. The Wizards practiced on Sunday, but Seraphin did not take part.
Seraphin suffered the injury in the first quarter of the team's 99-95 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. Without Seraphin, Brian Cook starred, helping the Wizards get their first preseason victory. However, we all know that's not a consistent winning formula. The Wizards desperately need Seraphin healthy, especially given the injuries to Nene and Trevor Booker, as well as Emeka Okafor's illness.
If none of those players can go on Sunday, we may see a frontcourt featuring Jan Vesely and Cook starting, with Earl Barron as the first big man off the bench. Chris Singleton will continue to play some backup power forward until everyone gets healthy.
