Your Washington Wizards

where “not playing awful” is reason to celebrate…

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

Biggest difference in this game

Is the 3 point shooting:

Chi: 4-11
Wash: 0-5

Wizards are winning the rebound battle and have double as many free throws made. Wittman needs to put someone out there that can hit a wide open 3 pointer

Therein lies the problem...

trying to get a “wide open” three against this Chicago defense…

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

there have been a couple

Lew and JCraw just missed em

uh - - -

JCraw misses 72% of his three point shots…. so that’s not newsworthy

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

by Rook6980 on Jan 30, 2012 8:15 PM EST up reply actions

Thats irrelevant

The issue is there is a wide open shot and someone needs to make it.

NOT irrelevant...

A SMART defensive team knows which players they can leave alone (Crawford and Lewis) and which ones they cannot….

Unlike the Wizards, who keep leaving Korver, one of the best all time 3-point shooters,

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

by Rook6980 on Jan 30, 2012 8:18 PM EST up reply actions

sad thing:

8 years ago, lewis was $ from 3

by Todd L on Jan 30, 2012 8:20 PM EST up reply actions

Thibdeau is probably drawing up his defense to

allow Crawford all the wide open three pointers he wants to take….

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

by Rook6980 on Jan 30, 2012 8:17 PM EST up reply actions   1 recs

We've had at least three already

-Rashard Lewis from the right corner
-Jordan Crawford from the same right corner
-Shelvin Mack from the left wing.

The looks are there…

So this is what it's like to have a team defense so good that you can suck

on Offense, and still be winning by 11 at the half….

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

by Rook6980 on Jan 30, 2012 8:14 PM EST reply actions

Its not even the defense

The 3-ball has been keeping them in it. Wizards have been getting great looks, Bulls have been bad on both ends.

Look at who the Bulls are ALLOWING good looks at 3 pointers !!!

Lewis 24%
Crawford 28%

And they’re in Nick Young’s back pocket… He can’t get free at all… !!

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

All due respect, I done care about none of that

Guys are wide open, the shots need to be made. No excuses, or insert a player that is able to knock them down.

Have a couple bruisers, some length, an explosive penetrator and shooting to spread it and energy guys off the bench thats well built.

seriously if this game was 5-5 rather than 5-8

I think the Wizards might have pulled this one off. Stupid refs wont give us one call but they get everyone

Refs were bad early and all throughout

But Wiz inability to make shots ultimately cost them.

Young and Crawford combined to shoot 35 times

any team that has 2 40% fg shooters shooting that much will never be that good ever.

gotta dumpo them both

Jeremy Lamb?

Though I will say, Nick Young played great defense and hit some big shots late. But yeah, they let this one get out of hand.

i just dont get where u get that from

Nick, OK. He’s a 5th year guy who doesnt get it. Craw shows flashes and is a sophomore and his contract is mad cheap.

Great effort.

Losing by 10 to the best East team is like a miracle.

by isum on Jan 30, 2012 9:24 PM EST reply actions

Good effort - Chicago is just a much better team...

To only lose by 10 is surprising to me…

Booker with an excellent game, 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks
Young had a good game too, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks
Both played very good defense.

John Wall with an OK game. 20 points, 6 assists (but he got torched by Rose)

McGee with a good game. 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

I liked the small ball lineup there

someone remind me why Nick Young can’t play SF? Is it just lack of rebounding? Replace Crawford in that lineup with a SG who can actually shoot and pair them with Nick Young at SF.

This isn't an uncommon lineup

I'm thinking that Booker needs to start....

Wall, Young, Vesely, Booker, McGee for the next game…

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

I wouldn't start Vesely with that lineup

The Good the bad the Ugly

Good

Wall 20 pts 6 assists
Mcgee 16,9,3 blks 2 stls
Booker 14,9,2blks 3 stls

Bad

Lewis 1-6

Ugly

Nick 17pts on 20 shots
Crawford 10 pts on 16 shots

by jazzy1 on Jan 30, 2012 9:28 PM EST reply actions

Even though Lewis shot poorly

I put him in the good category. He was scrappy all game and I loved the effort

NY just can't win

He scores 21 efficient points last night, and everyone is on him for his lack of rebounds and assists. Tonight he gets 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks and people are on him for somewhat inefficient scoring, even though a couple of those shots were desperate 3’s at the end of the game.

Great overall effort. Some good defense esp in Q4.

but nobody shoots the ball well except for Booker.
My measure: If you score less points than how many shots you put up, that’s not efficient.

I think McGee needs to focus on defensive rebounds as well. 3 d.rebounds in 33 min! That’s not good enough. (I care less about that 6 o.rebounds).
