Pam McGee makes all bad coaches go away

Better be nice to her precious. Precious is a virgin. Precious is defenseless. Precious is special. She should be banned from the VC. Instead of telling her soon to listen to the coach because he is trying to teach you, she seems more concerned about moving her son ahead through coercion. Doesn’t she have enough faith in precious? She seems to enforce the idea of entitlement and low self-esteem. I feel sorry for her precious because he just can’t go out and have a basketball career like everyone else in the league. Mommy Dearest is the house. Always.

Mcgee is lookin like he's up towards 260+

which means there are probably many nights wittman can get away with Jan at PF alongside Mcgee for good stretches, that would be a running, shot-blocking frontcourt extraordinaire for whatever that’s worth

Sadly, I have a feeling Vesely's growth will be stunted this yr

If the Wiz can get Vesely 20 minutes per game. I bet he averages in and round 6 rebounds, 8 points and a few blocks and steals. which would be better than Dyrk in his rookie season… just sayin’ He does remind me of him in a way. with his motor, length and athleticism.

Not like Pam ever lies she seems to have the pulse of the situations with the Wizards

Seriously if her son wasn’t involved she should be someone the Wizards ought to consider hiring.

Things aren’t gonna end well with Wittman he has this sorta attitude thats not gonna play well when the losses start flying in putting Wall and Young back in the game seemed to irritate Wall who says he was stiff after sitting so long.

Wittman was not a good coach his last incarnation as a head coach and it seems nothing has changed.

He doesn’t want Mcgee getting touches an athletic 7 footer but prefers putting the ball in the Hero ball player hands more often.

this is not gonna end well at ALL.

We must start Vesely.Watching Blatche running the fastbreak was painful. Its like he has stones for feet

I would offer every last possible dollar and cent to Roy Hibbert and see what Indiana does with it. I’d much rather dramatically overpay that dude and rest assured we get a reliable player. Bring him back to DC after we jettison the baggage.

Absolutely

We shoulda won that game by 22 at least!

On crowd size...I have at least 5 friends

that didn’t even arrive until the second half…I think people are just saying, well I have a ticket…might as well go…HA…

it was pretty empty last night…I had a 100 level center row basically to myself

by DavidDunn on Jan 26, 2012 1:42 PM EST reply actions

Wall's reaction to Wittman's comments is interesting...

He also said people are firing it up because they were not sure how many minutes they would get…

I still don’t understand that mindset….it makes you look worse if the team looks like a disaster no matter how much you score….

I don’t see Vesely or Booker or Singleton firing it up at every opportunity?

Re: G. Williams coaching

Not head coach, but I do think he would make a great specialist or assistant coach to work with the guards…. he turned a bunch of sub-par athletes at maryland into NBA players. if he had nba ready guys to start with imagine how much better he’d make them (in theory)?

by TremendousUpside on Jan 26, 2012 2:25 PM EST reply actions

Sounds great

Now all we need are NBA ready guys.

Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

packed house

The pic with the “packed house” link is misleading…at game time the lower bowl had a good crowd, especially for a Tuesday night against the Bobcats….the picture is well before game time.

I concur with Mike....I had two rows basically to my self

at center court…

people started to arrive later….but attendance was sparse at the beginning…

I actually saw two groups come in at the start of the 2nd and leave 5 min into the third….figured the MD/Duke game would be much livelier, and could have more talent on the floor …. HA!

by DavidDunn on Jan 26, 2012 2:56 PM EST up reply actions

OK, fine, tipoff time … but DC people show up late you know that…I’m merely saying, it doesn’t show the “real” crowd that was there a bit into the game…its misleading suggesting that was the crowd for the game.

by festivusball on Jan 26, 2012 2:56 PM EST reply actions

Yeah noticed that too..everyone arrives late…and actually those who left early were at least leaving early because of the blowout. The game didn’t provide much energy crowd wise despite the score, but the ovation at the end was good…could have done with a few less Blatche hecklers, one of whom behind us definitely got to him .. at one point saying he wouldn’t pay him $20…Wall then mouthed something about him being worth at least $22 to him and laughed…but he definitely screwed with his head a bit … that started right when he missed those free throws and continued with all the missed close in shots..he could have easily had 30 points probably….not saying it was the one guy, but it didn’t help…

by festivusball on Jan 26, 2012 3:13 PM EST up reply actions

I thought it was funny people left early

we’re wiz fans, savor every last second of a blowout!

by DCrez on Jan 26, 2012 3:17 PM EST up reply actions

they are starting to wand people....

not sure why…but it is making the side entrances less easy to get into…lines are much longer…

by DavidDunn on Jan 26, 2012 3:49 PM EST up reply actions

Why?

Isn’t it obvious? An anonymous caller threatened to kill Blatche. Strangely, it was his Mom. She is an avid Wizard fan.

I didn’t say I would. I am not the Wizards GM. Its about how sincere the Wiz are about winning. I see these financial leeches engorging themselves off this team telling me things will improve. Maybe after they finish feasting.

Putting Wall and Young back in

Given that those of us who sit in the stands every game know that NO lead is safe with this team, I would have no problem with ensuring the lead when we gave up a few points. However, I also think that, given this season, shouldn’t keep Mack in for too many consecutive minutes, either.

by rsilbe on Jan 26, 2012 5:13 PM EST reply actions

there was definitely a flash in my mind at the 3:37 mark or so in the 4th when they cut it to 17 or 18 point lead it popped in my mind they could come back….of course, luckily we’re talking the Bobcats not the Celtics…

Interesting contract situations around the league

Reports out there about “bad blood” between Nic Batum and the Blazers after they low balled him: http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/26/bad-blood-created-as-blazers-batum-fail-to-reach-extension/. He would be a perfect pickup for us. Gordon rejecting his extension offer from NOH and Ryan Anderson not getting an extension from Orlando. All guys I had on my wish list. I think we should target the following guys in the offseason: Gordon, Batum, Gerald Wallace (he will opt out), OJ Mayo (maybe even trade for him before the deadline since Memphis is willing to deal), Ryan Anderson, Omer Asik. I would love to grab any two of those guys. I don’t think Anderson is going anywhere as we’ve seen Otis match big offers before but Batum and OJ Mayo could be very available and we could afford to give both good sized contracts. If you get those two guys, I would target Anthony Davis in the draft and there’s your starting 5: Wall, Mayo, Batum, Davis, McGee. Ain’t half bad

by jeffco01 on Jan 26, 2012 6:43 PM EST reply actions   1 recs

I like all these guys as well

but putting Davis in our starting lineup at PF sets us back a few years. I don’t think he’ll be ready for a while. I also don’t think he pairs well with McGee. I think Sullinger or Robinson fits better next to McGee.

"Blake Griffin is the American Jan Vesely" - Jan Vesely

by PhenomenalSwag on Jan 26, 2012 7:26 PM EST up reply actions

I agree with that

but my solution would be to still draft Davis, then sign/trade Mcgee for a PF, hopefully one of Utah’s guys.

by Mr. E on Jan 27, 2012 3:04 PM EST up reply actions

Portland I think has made a serious error regarding Batum.

The guy is a wing who can defend and score. And I would bet that he would love to be on an NBA team with his French national teammates, Seraphin and Turiaf.

I suspect that David Stern will see to it that Gordon receives a significant financial incentive to stay in New Orleans, as his departure would put a serious dent in the value of that franchise.

I do think that if we get one or two more good games out of Blatche that Memphis would consider a straight up deal for Mayo, or better still if they add in their first rounder EG could send them Young as Mayo’s replacement. They are getting desperate for a .4 and playoffs are at stake.

The fact that there is almost certainly some pressure on EG to make some smart deals soon could help this process along.

by khrabb on Jan 26, 2012 7:49 PM EST up reply actions

Why would anybody trade for Blatche

There is nothing else that needs to be said

by izaballa on Jan 26, 2012 7:58 PM EST via Android app up reply actions

Blatche will be OK as the 4th Option

Nobody was on Blatche’s case when he was the 4th option after Arenas, Jamison, and Butler. If a GM takes that into consideration, another team may well be ready to pull the trigger for the depth factor.

by LotteryNot2Day on Jan 26, 2012 8:12 PM EST up reply actions

I read that Memphis is not shopping Mayo now

he’s playing good with his role of a scorer and passer off the bench. And that Gordon and the Hornets (Stern) weren’t even close on an extension… Gordon wants the max if he’s going to stay there. I’m not sure what the Pacers have in cap room but I could see Gordon wanting to go there. They have to pay Hibbert but Gordon, being from there, could make them a VERY good team.

Don't forget Wilson Chandler

I really like him and after Re-signing Nene and Aflallo and now with Galinari’s extension I don’t know if they are going to be able to re=sign him. They also got JR Smith and KMart….. but I don’t want one of them

Just looked at Miami's contracts...

and yikes, did they really give LeBron, Bosh, and Wade player options for 2014/15 and 2015/16? That ship is not going to age well.

by TerroristFistJab on Jan 26, 2012 9:32 PM EST reply actions

Looking even closer...

assuming Miami picks up the team option on Norris Cole in 2014/15 (and all player options are accepted) Miami already has $76.3 million dollars on the books that year.

Griffin did that last yr too and it's annoying als hell, BUT

Wall does it too and gets techs for it too. Also, when John loses, he sulks. When Blake loses, he tries harder. Don’t tell me he has a better team, because he really didn’t last year. The only difference between the Wizards and the Clippers last yr was Blake.
