whittman deserves a crack at the head coach position,i agree. I think Sam Cassell is the better option for a rebuilding team. This team is young. A few players who didnt even attend college & most who didn't stay four years in college. Flip saunders was a great coach , we saw this in Detroit but it was strictly vets on that team. Flip Saunders is not a teacher. These young players need to be taught in addition to being coached. You can't coach players the ins and outs of a offense if you havent taught them how 5 players are more effective than 1. This team has a "get theirs" mentality. Young & Mcgee are playing for a contract they could get over the summer. Blatche is playing so that the numbers show the fans he is not a bum. Wall is just learning day to day which was suppose to been done over the summer. & a foreign player who is catching up to the game.

Sam Cassell can teach these players. (Mostly wall at the pg position) He's young and can establish more of a personality the players can relate to.This team doesn't need to be military style , direct order stand still offense work the ball. This team needs to run, run, run, get a little reckless, have fun, and they are 8 seed in the east.<<Possibly in the future. Or if you keep mcgee for next year and going to bring jeff green in (seraphin, booker) Bring in patrick ewing in to be the coach and develop these big men.
