Give JaVale some post touches Dammit.

And let’s see a Jan/Singleton at the same time lineup. Create some turnovers, start the break.

by DCeee on Jan 11, 2012 9:18 PM EST reply actions

Vale as offense is a relatively new development

Maybe Flip will learn, aka read on BF, that Javale is turning into a legit post player. At least I think he is.

they haven’t shot well, but he’s hardly been putting guys in position to succeed either. his passing has been entirely unimpressive, i hate to say

by Newjamarcus on Jan 11, 2012 9:21 PM EST up reply actions

in which case

wouldnt you be able to make that same excuse with any and every pg in the league. The idea with those special pure pgs (cp3, nash, kidd) is that they make their teams better, they find ways to make that pass that leads to an easy layup or shot, they weave in and out of traffic in the half court and find ways to open up lanes for their men, and thats why they are elite. They dont just do it with elite players, cp3 was stacking up assits with scrubs in NO, nash is doing it now with the suns. Steve blake could get 10 assists if he was playing next to ray allen and kevin durant, but that doesnt mean steve blake is a great pg….

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

If we can get up, they don’t have much talent on offense tonight, not to mention we’re playing great D…

We seriously just need to get one thing going on offense. Anything.

Nick Young is sooo lazy

He never runs off screen on offense. He’s always jogging and on cruise control. Just look at his style of running of screens vs. Korver. Unlike Nick, Korver sprints and trys to get to the open spots very quickly. That’s why Nick is much less effective coming off of screens than other good shooter. We can’t overpay this guy.

Formerly know as iNFamous SWaGG

by DMVLeGenD on Jan 11, 2012 9:47 PM EST reply actions

Our offense consists of

1. Wall in overdrive to the hole
2. McGee with increasingly efficient post moves
3. Nick Young (or JC) in an iso
4. Kick out to Singleton for 3

by mindstaterev on Jan 11, 2012 9:47 PM EST reply actions

So the last 7-8 minutes are Wall/McGee/Booker/Sing/Young (or whoever)

Do you know a source where i can find the remaining free agents out there?

by gregjohnson1229 on Jan 11, 2012 9:57 PM EST up reply actions

John Wall did work last quarter!!

That’s what i’d like to see more of he’s being assertive, driving on the fast break gives him the best chance to score and had 3 assists alone. He’s only one of 2 pgs that can do what he does…. Also he keeps putting pressure on the defense and forcing them to sprint back that takes a toll on them too. He’s played great this quarter and made a lot of plays offensively and defensively. I cannot wait until he finishes his fast breaks at a higher percentage and knocks down a few more shots he will be BEAST.

by Wizkid4eva on Jan 11, 2012 9:50 PM EST reply actions

about deng

hes a system guy, not really a great shot creator for himself. In fact, no one outside of our point guards can create for themselves, i think this is an awesome experience for everyone on the bulls to learn where they are in terms of shortcomings offensively. I think people take for granted the production the bulls players not including rose put up, that most people that arent bulls fans forget how much the offense really centers on his ability to create for the rest of the team. He might not get assists, and he might take more shots than most people think a pg ever should, but he does it to help the team not himself…

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

by piccolomair on Jan 11, 2012 9:52 PM EST reply actions   1 recs

I'd love to have Deng on my team

He’s exactly the type of guy you need on your team to win. He also plays really good defense and can guard superstars like Lebron and Carmelo. He had a bad shooting day today but he’s usually a safe bet for 15-20 pts too.

by Wizkid4eva on Jan 11, 2012 9:55 PM EST up reply actions   1 recs

hes a system guy

hes a good guy to get those open buckets, he puts the practice in, but right now hes being asked to sort of take the offensive load, and u can see him faltering, he cant do it. Hes a great team mate and a player i love on this team, but his success is a direct correlation with rose, he does a great job of sneaking around defenses when they arent looking at him, right now, the wizards are watching him, and nothings coming easy for him, and u can see his weaknesses glaring

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

by edubz on Jan 11, 2012 9:54 PM EST up reply actions

Smh... Shooting isn't that easy it doesn't take 1 offseason to completely fix your jump shot.

But with time he’ll improve it. Derrick Rose had a worse jump shot his first two years and now look at it. Shooting a million shots doesn’t automatically guarantee you a wet jumper.

gave up 23 offensive rebounds… no one boxed out well tonight.

by koop1122 on Jan 11, 2012 10:29 PM EST up reply actions

Sorry, what does this have to do with McGee again?

By your simple math, it would have been 62-32 without him.

Will work for Recs.

by Wieters Wieners on Jan 11, 2012 10:31 PM EST up reply actions

it's not math it's putting your body between your man and basket

JaVale played well but still needs to do a better job of using his body instead of only his length… you can play good D like we did but doesn’t mean much when you give up 23 offensive rebounds

I seriously have no idea what game you just watched.

McGee had a great game.

Honestly

1. Less strict than Blazersedge, but more strict than Camdenchat.
2. You can curse, but try to keep it to a minimum. If we see it happening again and again or out of context, that’s not good. No one is going to freak out it you drop an f bomb or two, but if keep doing it in the thread directed at the same target, it will probably get called out.
3. No personal attacks
4. None of the usual horrible stuff that gets you banned elsewhere.

Shooting well, OR getting in the position for good shots

Much of the blame lies with Flip.

There are no cuts to the basket, no open 3’s, no layup attempts, no driving to the basket looking to get fouled.

Our offense is flat out terrible. Forget inspiration, forget rotations, Flip’s offense needs to be replaced

Gibson was having his way with Vesley and clearly too powerful for Ves.

Wall played with a lot of heart tonight. He needs support from reliable shooters, and it doesn’t exist. He’d be an all-star right now on the Lakers, Mavs, or another team with a strong core.

by Tbonebullets on Jan 11, 2012 10:26 PM EST reply actions

not enough

He needs a floater

he needs to slow down on those drives

He needs to learn how to get assists off of the pick and roll

He needs a post game. He is 6’4" and should’ve taken that mouse Lucas on the block

by jaffejoe on Jan 11, 2012 10:31 PM EST up reply actions

Its all about the jumper though

You’re right, he needs those things too. But if he gets the jumper our half court offense will be SO much better. And he will be pretty unguardable. The jumper is most important. Other things are fine tuning.

but you direct the tough ones at Flip and Ernie. Flip will answer candidly, EG will ruminate and avoid.

with coaches calling fouls and ect, it tends to be very ad hoc. For the most part, yes, the starters torch the backups if they play against each other.

Nick Young

I think other teams have figured him out

Play him close because he doesn’t have blow-by speed

Run two defenders at him from time to time.

On defense, run him ragged through screens…. Which tires him out…and negatively impacts him on offense

Stop Nick, and the Wiz have a hard time scoring

I doubt Nick scores 20 plus more than a dozen times this year

by CVC on Jan 11, 2012 10:38 PM EST reply actions

that's what im saying.

why you have him guarding korver is confusing…he’s your main offensive threat and your running him ragged on d. No reason why Sing isn’t guarding him. Again, why i blame flip for the loss.

My favorite quotes from the bulls announcers tonight:

On Crawford:
“This young man is a gunner”
“See, he just wants to score”
“He WILL NOT PASS THE BALL, he’s not doing it”
“Thats just not a good shot, even if it went in

On the Wizards:
“I’ve seen better games played at the Y”
“Everyone is just trying to get theirs”
“I don’t understand what the Wizards are doing. All night…Seraphin had an open 8 footer and he didn’t take it…He tried to force that pass in there instead”
“They have no concept of spacing…Even when they have an open shot, a teammate is essentially forcing a defender to run at them”
“The only one trying to get others involved is John Wall, but as soon as he passes the ball he may as well run back on defense because he ain’t getting the ball back”
“The Wizards…Even John Wall!… have no idea of what a good shot is, just absolutely no idea. Thats just not a good shot, even if it went in”
