This was their championship game

Here you can see how it continues and how Jan sings with the fans at the end of the video.
Awesome really.

that’s the difference between European (especially greek and serbian) basketball and the NBA the fans are much more involved. and it also helps that Vesely was the man for Partizan fans…
That's awesome

Thats pretty cool indeed
I think UFC, boxing, wrestleling are all testosteron sports so a pumped up crowd is more likely. But in hockey and football and in all college sports really, you see great crowds so why are NBA crowds so lackluster looking generally?!

That's a really good question
NBA ball really seems to have the most mild fans outside of MLB, and at least with baseball you can blame oversized stadiums and the lack of a roof. Personally, my guess would just be that each made basket is relatively unimportant compared to the other sports where one touchdown, goal, or momentum changing strike can win or lose the game. Like, say John Wall hits a fadeaway to end the first quarter. That’s great, but those two points are only like 2 percent of the total points the team will score all night, so it’s really meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah but isnt that the same for college ball?
I mean, I think you’re right that 1 basket isnt nearly as important as a score mostly is in other sports but that cant be the only thing.
Personally I think it might have something to do with money. A lot of the die hard fans in other sports are mostly white and have money. College tickets are dead cheap so all students can afford to go, but NBA tickets are quite expensive from what i’ve seen while a lot of the basketball fans are black who might be less able to afford tickets, so maybe the sport’s most passionate fans are watching on tv.
Please correct me if im ignorantly wrong on this. Its just that as an observer from overseas it looks like a possible explination.

I just think that NCAA fans
are much more involved because fans are rooting for their college, players they personally know, players that represent their school. while a John Wall really has no relation to DC besides playing for the Wiz.
So i think that college is much more on a personal level, fans have a much tighter bond to the school then an NBA team?
I’m not from the US myself but it kinda makes sense to me :)
